I am very inclined towards Saint Augustine: primarily because the convent where I was raised belonged to his order, and then because he was a sinner. Saints who were sinners before the Lord brought them back to Himself were a great comfort to me. It seemed to me that I could find help in them, and that if the Lord forgave them, He could do the same for me… How I am struck by the strength of resistance my soul had, even though it had so much help from God!
