It's not enough to kneel by the manger just once a year.

The divine child became a teacher and told us what we should do. For the entire human life to be permeated by divine life, it is not enough to kneel by the manger once a year and let oneself be enchanted by the atmosphere of the holy night. One must be in daily contact with God throughout life… (…) Whoever says from the heart each day, "Lord, may Your will be done," can certainly rely on not missing God's will even when they have no subjective certainty.

(Edith Stein /1891–1942/, The Christmas Mystery)
