* * * (poem)

Eva J.

we wait for the sunrise
but our sky is full of clouds

full of poison and bleeding wounds
we wait for healing
in forgetfulness we seek
our salvation and forgiveness

our empty hands
long for fulfillment
in a soothing sleep
we wait for awakening

full of doubts we ask for trust
we want to merge
we yearn for freedom
but we are afraid to let go of the shore, to wander

why?
we shy away from direct looks and touches
we live only in dreams

we ask for mercy
and tremble with pride and fear
that our prayer will be heard
