The birth of God in the soul: it must not seem impossible to anyone that one can reach this point.
Let God command me what He wants, I do not care, all of this means little to me: only when He grants me His grace. Some say they do not have it! I reply: that hurts me! But when you do not desire it, it hurts me even more. Therefore, if you cannot have it, nonetheless desire to have it. When it happens that someone cannot even have this desire, let them at least desire to have it… May we thus sigh to God, that He Himself may long to be born in us.
