To lose oneself in God in the maternal warmth of the Blessed Virgin.

When the Carmelites felt loved by such a great and tender Mother, they could only love her in return. Therefore, the Carmelite ideal is to "lose oneself in God in the motherly warmth of the Blessed Virgin".
