Do not approach the unpleasant events of this life with anxiety, but with perfect hope that God, to whom you belong, will deliver you from each of them. He has protected you until now; just hold firmly to the hand of His Providence, and He will stand by you in every situation – and where you can no longer walk on your own, He will carry you. What would you be afraid of? After all, you belong to a God who has assured us so powerfully that "all things work together for good to those who love Him." Do not worry about what tomorrow will bring, or anytime else; either no evil will come upon you, or if it does, He will give you unshakable courage to endure it.
Remain in peace. Remove from your imagination everything that may disturb you, and often say to our Lord: God, you are my God, and I trust in you; you will stand by me, you will be my refuge, and I will not be afraid of anything, because you are not only with me, but you are also in me and I in you.
Be truly like a child. And as you know, children do not think about many things at all, for someone else thinks about that for them…
