The path to the canonization of Blessed Titus Brandsma has been opened.

During the audience granted to the Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Marcello Semeraro, on November 25, 2021, Pope Francis approved the publication of a decree regarding a miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Titus Brandsma (born Anno Sjoerd), a priest and Carmelite who was born on February 23, 1881, in Bolsward, Netherlands, and was killed by phenol injection on July 26, 1942, in Dachau, Germany. This was a miracle of healing from metastases of melanoma in the lymph nodes of a member of the Carmelite order in Palm Beach, USA, in 2004.
