During the audience granted to the Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Marcello Semeraro, on November 25, 2021, Pope Francis approved the publication of a decree concerning the miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Titus Brandsma (born Anno Sjoerd), a priest and Carmelite, who was born on February 23, 1881, in Bolsward, Netherlands, and was killed by phenol injection on July 26, 1942, in Dachau, Germany. It was a miracle of healing from metastatic melanoma of the lymph nodes of a member of the Carmelite order in Palm Beach, USA, in 2004.
