Strive first of all to be united in heart and will, as we read about the apostles and other Christians of the early Church: “they all had one heart.” There will be no other sign that we rejoice in the Lord’s grace than mutual love and unity. For He Himself says: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” After all, where there is a differing will, there inevitably is discord; and where there is discord, division will surely ensue, as the Savior says: “a kingdom divided against itself will fall.”
