When you can no longer, whether physically or morally, do not fall into rigidity, into rebellion, do not succumb to confusion: stand before him as something pitifully powerless, with which he can do as he wishes. However, be passive before him. Sometimes just a moment is enough and the connection with the mystery of his depths will return to you, if not always understanding, then at least peace, the certainty that you are his child and that he blesses all that suffering and opens new spaces in your soul where he could come and dwell.
(Cardinal Charles Journet /1891–1975/, correspondence)
