Saint John Paul II and the Carmelite Scapular

St. John Paul II wore the scapular depicting Our Lady of Mount Carmel since his youth. He had it on even at the moment when an assassination attempt was made on him on May 13, 1981. He did not take it off even in the hospital. The scapular is kept by the Carmelite brothers from the parish of S. Maria Regina Mundi in Rome.
