When I read in the Gospel that Mary "went in haste to a Judean town in the hill country" to serve her relative Elizabeth with an act of love, I see her walking so beautifully, calmly, and dignified, so absorbed with the Word of God. Her prayer was always in harmony with His prayer: "Behold, I am here!" Who? "The servant of the Lord", the last of His creations: she, His Mother! She was so true in her humility, for she remained in forgetfulness of herself, unaware of herself, and liberated from herself, that she could sing: "The Mighty One has done great things for me... from this day all generations will call me blessed."
