Even when we are angry or upset, we cannot claim that it is due to work or words that did not resonate with us, admonishment or anything else. It is our choice whether and to what extent we will be unhappy and angry, or whether we will remain above it all. We are not as much shaped by what happens outside, but by how we react to it ourselves. (…)
Regardless of how angry we are, we can choose a way of thinking that leads to different behavior. This will break the cycle of habitual, instinctive, and limited reactions that cause us to live far below our natural and supernatural possibilities! When you decide to look at things differently, you will feel differently and act differently. And don’t forget – being happy requires no more effort than being unhappy. One can choose.
