"Is it not enough for You, my God, that You keep me in this miserable life, which I accept for love of You and wish to live here on earth, where everything prevents me from experiencing You, because I have to take care of food, sleep, deal with various matters, and talk to people? You know how distasteful this is to me, and yet out of love for You, I do not resist. Why do You hide from me in those rare moments when I can be with You? How does this reconcile with Your mercy and the love You have for me? I think that if I could hide from You, as You hide from me, Your love would not tolerate it. And yet You are always with me and see me! My Lord, such behavior is unbearable. Please reconsider this, for You do injustice to the one who loves You!"
