I do not attach great importance to my dreams; after all, I rarely dream anything symbolic, and I wonder how it is possible that, while I think of God all day, I do not engage with Him more in my sleep… Usually, I dream of forests, flowers, streams, and the sea, and almost always I see beautiful little children, catching butterflies and birds I have never seen. You see, my Mother, my dreams appear poetic, but they are by no means mystical.
One night after the death of Mother Genevieve, I had a dream that filled me with comfort: it seemed to me that she was writing a will and giving each sister something that belonged to her. When it was my turn, I thought I would receive nothing because she had nothing left, but she stood up and said to me three times with piercing emphasis, “I leave you my heart.”
