My Lord has risen from the dead! Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! My God is no longer in the grave and the grave is not opened: the doors remain closed, the seals are unbroken, but the grave is empty, my God is no longer inside. He has risen from the dead, as He said – Surrexit sicut dixit, allelujah, allelujah! ... I knelt before the cold stone and my God is no longer there ... I wept before the tomb and my God is no longer inside ... I came to mourn under the trees in the cool light of the white moon ... I came to grieve for my dead Lord, who lies buried here, the Beloved ... He is no longer dead, He is no longer buried, but He is always the Beloved ... He is no longer in this garden, He is no longer under those dark trees ... He lives forever ... Hallelujah, hallelujah! My Lord has risen! Hallelujah! My Beloved has risen from the dead! Hallelujah! My God has risen from the dead, hallelujah! Forever lives He whom I mourned as dead! Hallelujah! Shine, white moon! Cool moon, warm our hearts! O moon, shine like seven suns! Flee, night! Shadow, disappear! Shine, night, vanish, shadows! The eternal Light has appeared! Be praised, be praised, be praised! Holy, holy, holy! Blessed be the Lord, hallelujah! Lumen Christi! The light of Christ shines, the night is brightened, the night sparkles, Christ has risen! Hallelujah, hallelujah! ...
