XXIV. Thoughts came to me about what is happening to me now, that I have not experienced anything from my loving Mother for a long time. I wondered if there was something in me, or if she disapproved of something about me that kept her from me. And although I still felt within me that she is still very lovingly and kindly in my soul, it felt like from a distant Mother, with whom I have no connection and of whom I hear no news. I comforted myself with the thought: my most loving Mother is pleased that her beloved Son is with me. If her loving visit was necessary for me, I have no doubt that she would come to me and reveal herself to me as before, as she promised. This was the day before the feast of the Visitation of the loving Mother.
On the feast of the Visitation of the Most Holy Virgin, I felt within me how the fire of love for her and at the same time for God ignites and burns, and my heart was wounded by the tenderest love.
As I was preparing for Holy Communion, that desire to unite in love with her in God and with God returned to me. I seemed to be transformed into God and at the same time into Mary in a very wonderful, noble, and spiritual way that I cannot explain. I felt as if I were being taken over by God and Mary and that I was receiving in my soul from God through Mary a supernatural life, and so it seemed that I live, breathe, and love through God and through Mary. My soul, God, and Mary are indeed three, but these three seem to be only one, consumed in love into one and merged into one.
When I was about to receive, I saw my sweetest, loving Mother close to me on my right side, and at the same time her beloved Son Jesus, my only beloved, right before me, and it seemed to me that I was giving my heart to my loving Mother so that she could deliver it to my beloved Jesus and affectionately ask him to allow me to renew my betrothal fidelity to her dearest Son, my beloved. And this happened...
After receiving Holy Communion, the imaginative presence or image of Jesus and Mary disappeared so that I no longer saw their likeness. And I remained in a kind of intimate, passive connection and enjoyment of eternal, infinite, shapeless, and supreme good. The Most Holy Mother of God and my loving Mother seemed to be taken into this connection and enjoyment in such a simple, abstract, and spiritual way that no, or only a slight, image of her remained in my spirit.
It seemed to me that God acts completely passively in the soul, that while she behaves passively, nothing of mine mixes in there, for it is performed too purely. I feel that I could not have or create any bodily image or likeness of my loving Mother in my understanding. What God allows me to enjoy here happens with a very detached memory, pure knowledge, and a melting love in God and in Mary.
