Mystyczne połączenie z Marią (18. część)

XXIV. Thoughts came to me about what is happening to me now, that I have not experienced anything from my loving Mother for a long time. I wondered if there is something in me, or if there is something that she does not like about me that distances her from me. And although I still felt that she is very lovingly and kindly in my soul, it was like from a distant Mother, with whom I have no connection and of whom we hear no news. I comforted myself with the thought: my most love-worthy Mother is pleased that her beloved Son is with me. If her loving visit were necessary for me, I have no doubt that she would come to me and reveal herself to me as she did before, as she promised. This was the day before the feast of the Visitation of the loving Mother.

On the feast of the Visitation of the Holy Virgin, I felt within me how a fire of love for her and simultaneously for God is ignited and burns, and my heart was wounded by the most tender love.

As I was preparing for Holy Communion, that desire to unite with love along with her in God and with God returned to me. I seemed to be transformed into God and at the same time into Mary in a very wonderful, lofty, and spiritual way that I cannot explain. I felt as if I were dominated by God and Mary, and that I was receiving a supernatural life from God through Mary in my soul, and thus it seemed that I lived, breathed, and loved through God and through Mary. My soul, God, and Mary are, though three, appear to be one, consumed by love into one and merged into one.

When I was about to receive, I saw my sweetest, loving Mother close to me at my right side and at the same time her beloved Son Jesus, my only beloved, right in front of me, and it seemed to me that I was giving my heart to my loving Mother to deliver it to my beloved Jesus and ask him lovingly to allow me to renew my betrothed fidelity to her dearest Son, my beloved. And that happened...

After receiving Holy Communion, that figurative presence or image of Jesus and Mary disappeared, so that I no longer saw their likeness. And I remained in some intimate, passive union and enjoyment of the eternal, infinite, shapeless, and supreme good. The Holy Mother of God and my loving Mother seemed to be joined in this union and enjoyment in such a simply abstract and spiritual way that no image of her remained in my spirit or only a very slight one.

It seemed to me that God acts absolutely passively in the soul, or while she behaves passively, and that nothing of mine mixes in there, because it is executed too purely. I feel that I could not have or create any bodily image or likeness of the loving Mother in my mind. What God grants me to enjoy here happens with a very distant memory, pure knowledge, and dissolving love in God and in Mary.
